Xbox and 2K Foundations (the philanthropic division of 2K, publisher of NBA 2K) are partnering to support underserved communities across the nation by refurbishing basketball courts in neighborhoods that need them the most.
Xbox asked us to develop the court design for the first refurbishment at The Salvation Army Siemon Family Community Center in South Central Los Angeles. The design brings together the Xbox and 2K brands in a manner that celebrates the positive work of the Siemon Center and the game of basketball. The design was also used as a wall graphic for a new game room featuring Xbox consoles and game tables.
The finished court was unveiled at an event that featured a ribbon-cutting by Ronnie 2K, the face of the 2K franchise, and an “old school vs. new school” game that pitted Siemon Center graduates against the current class.
